I own IQ4 Business and left a successful corporate career to begin my own business, so I could spend more quality time with my family and three children. I have a Masters degree in Business, honours degree in Economics and diplomas in Learning and Development Management, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Performance Coaching. Creating my own business from scratch has been a long and sometimes gruelling journey.
During my 13 years at Arcadia Group Plc I was a Buyer for Burton Menswear’s 3,500 stores managing a department with a £14 million turnover, I was also a Training Manager and refined systems and processes in all aspects of business including finance, imports, distribution and management reporting.
Since March 2012 I have worked with many business owners and managers in small to medium sized businesses across a range of industries including manufacturers, retailers, technology companies, legal service providers and consultants. My clients have won Best Client Results in the South East and Best Retailer in Europe.
I have a unique combination of experience and qualifications in successfully developing people and businesses.
More recently I was developing organisational culture, individual and team skills for Europe’s largest construction project; Crossrail. I successfully developed and implemented many initiatives including competency frameworks, systems implementations, coaching and mentoring schemes, training programmes in personal, leadership and management excellence.
On average my clients get 30% increase in turnover and a 50% increase in operating profits, success means different things to different people; to some of my clients being able to take a 2 week holiday is as important than increasing profits – every business is different.

Through careful discussion and understanding the needs of a business and its leaders, I am able to work with the senior management to bring about the changes needed to influence, adapt and change a business, through Improved planning, control, and targeted activities.
We find that many small business leaders are so busy “doing the job” that they don’t have time (or sometimes the skillset) to think about the business, and to put in place the plans or activities needed to take the business to the next level of growth. That’s where I can help. – with over 35 years of senior roles in sales, marketing and general management I have the experience that allows me to understand what you are going through. Having launched three successful start ups, and had a major role in the set up of a fourth I think I understand.

I started in a Global PLC (GEC Avionics) as a young, teenage management trainee. After my A levels. I worked in every major department and gained a thorough insight into manufacturing and commercial management. It was an amazing introduction to the world of business.
From there I focused on a role as office manager and purchasing – running a small department for a national manufacturing brand (Sandvik). I then had wanderlust and spent a year travelling. On my return I was inspired by an advert for Retail Management with Safeways PLC.
I embarked on a fast-track management programme, such that within 9 months I was Assistant Manager of the prestigious Safeway Seaford Branch. I was 21 by then and thrust into the fast-paced consumer market for groceries. It was a brilliant learning ground for managing people and products – with tough targets and huge staffing shortages during the boom in the economy at the time.
After I got married I wanted to be a “stay-at-home-mum”, but that wasn’t to be, as my husband became seriously ill and I had to become the main financial provider for us and my two pre-school boys.
I took some great career’s advice and became a qualified Business Teacher – studying for a Business Degree with a PGCE which led me to a successful career in teaching and college management for 14 years. My students used to say “You know such a lot about business, Miss, but you have never owned one” – which led me to think I should apply my experience, skills and knowledge to running my own business.
So in 2012 I qualified as a Business Coach with The Coaching Academy. I built up a solid customer base and was approved by the Government funded GrowthAccelerator Programme – which enabled fast-growing businesses to be coached and trained to boost their growth and profitability.
I was recognised as the Federation of Small Business Best New Business Award in 2013 and was welcomed on to the Board for the Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce. I helped a variety of different sized businesses from different sectors, ranging from a Fitness Instructor moving from home-based 1:1 sessions to obtaining premises and staff, through to a multi-million pound distribution company with 150 staff and three branches, a successful car dealership operating with 5 franchises across 10 outlets throughout Sussex, a Dental practice, and many others.
Working in a variety of ways such as whole-group staff sessions, 1:1 coaching with directors or managers, specific skills workshops, developing a culture of coaching across organisations with a passion for creating expert leaders in the world of business and helping them to build great results. Whilst running my own business I invested heavily in my own personal development and passed on learning on to my clients. I am a firm believer in the power of learning and applying that learning in a practical way.
More recently I have taken time out and become a qualified Commercial and Civil Mediator. My journey has given me the experience that I need to take the next step in my career as a Business Coach and look forward to learning from IQ4Business and ActionCOACH.

I am the Business Growth Manager. Whilst living in South Africa I owned to Motorbike businesses which I grew and sold.
AS part of growing my businesses I was coached by an ActionCOACH, they transformed the way I looked at my businesses. Knowing the challenges of being a business owner and how ActionCOACH helped me in my journey gives me a unique perspective, helping me find business owners that can benefit from coaching.
My role is Business development Executive, so I make the initial contact with Business Owners to see how their business is doing and introduce business coaching. Previously I was working in customer services so I really enjoy helping people.
